What is the best size longboard to start with for a beginner?

I'm very good on ripstick and can skateboard decently. I've found 3 boards I like, one 36.5 inches, one 38 inches, and one 40 inches. I live in a somewhat hilly area but the beach I go to is completely flat. What should I start with?
