Running and weight loss?

I am a long distance runner, I run on average1.30 min on hilly terrain. I am just maintaining my weight though. A few years ago I gained weight like crazy due to medication for a health problem, I no longer needed it a few years ago, initially I lost 7 kgs, but I can't find a way to drop the remaining kgs, I have been struggling for years, I work outdoors in high energy environments, plus I run. My diet is not rich in fatty foods, I occasionally add salt to my cooking and Im a make it from scratch kind of person. I rarely eat breads and pastas and try to eat a balanced diet. What can I do? Would it be wise to cut carbs completely then re-introduce and maintain once I'm at a comfortable weight?
